Due to unforseen circumstances the audition dates for THE MIRACLE WORKER have changed from the original schedule.
- Monday, August 23rd at 7PM is staying the same. Note: Anyone auditioning for Helen, please come on Wednesday, August 25th at 7 PM.
- Tuesday, August 24th audition was CANCELLED and moved to Wednesday, August 25th at 7 PM.
General Cast Notes:
- Cast Ages range from 10 through adult.
- The roles of Annie and Helen are very physical-lots of ‘combat’.
- We will audition for a mid-large size dog able to be in 3 scenes.
- We are also looking for someone with expertise in projection images to work on tech team.
- Auditions for Helen will include some “non-seeing” exercises to evaluate ability to navigate as blind.
- Helen’s will audition last day of auditions only.
Here are the parts the director is looking for:
- A Doctor- will double as Anagnos, older gentleman-(40-60ish)
- Kate (Mrs. Keller-mother)-woman 20′s-early 30′s
- Keller (Capt. Keller-father) -older man(40-50′s), distinguished
- Helen – will not audition younger than 12 (prefer older youth that can look young) very physical part.
- Martha – young girl age 10-14
- Percy -boy, age 10-14 (will double as the off stage voice of Jimmie)
- Aunt Ev- middle aged woman, matronly (will also double as one of the off stage voices)
- James – son of Keller, 20-early 30′s
- Anagnos – will double as doctor
- Annie Sullivan – 20′s, energetic very physical part. knowledge of sign-language a plus.
- Viney (servant) -middle aged woman
6 Blind Girls – ages 10-14 - A Servant-double as a crew member and one of the off stage voices
- Belle, a dog. mid -large size (stage trained or able to be trained for stage) 3 scenes
