For those that auditioned for Winnie the Pooh,

I want to thank each child and parent that came to auditions. I had a lot of talented actors and actresses to choose from and that made my decision making very difficult. I made my decisions on facial expressions, line delivery, how I thought a person’s looks would blend with the rest of the cast, and rehearsal schedule conflicts. I really wish that I had a part for each of you. Every one of you did an outstanding job and I would love to see you at auditions for other shows.  I would like to take this opportunity to encourage each of you to take a class at FACE.  At the end of each class there is a showcase performance and that would be a great experience!

Director Spotlight: Maurice Reed

Long associated with Foothills Playhouse, Maurice’s previous directorial endeavors here includeThe Mousetrap, And Then There Were None and I’m Herbert. In years past he has directed The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Feiffer’s People and Krapp’s Last Tape at The College of Racine in Wisconsin; The Glass Menagerieat Indiana University; and The Sea at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Maurice received his BA in Drama/Math from The College of Racine in Wisconsin. Graduate work in Acting/Directing was done at Indiana University in Bloomington. He has taught technical theatre, speech and theatre management at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana.   His wife, Linda, holds a special place in his heart for allowing him the time required to co-create this work along with the cast and crew.

We have school matinees for Winnie-the-Pooh will be on March 22nd at 9 AM. Prices are $5 for the students and chaperones and free for the teachers. That includes home schoolers and their parent/teacher.

Winnie-the-Pooh is Christopher Robin’s fat little bear of Very Little Brain, who would like to drift peacefully through life, humming tunes and stopping frequently to eat “a little something.” However, he finds himself involved in all sorts of frantic adventures, assisted by such friends as the   dismal Eeyore, Piglet and Rabbit, with his countless relations. Pooh’s intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and condensed milk keeps getting him into trouble. When friend Piglet gets roped into Kanga’s household and Kanga starts bathing him (with soap!) and forcing down spoonfuls of Strengthening Medicine, Pooh wants to fly to the rescue, but he’s had so many snacks he gets stuck in the door.  What is he to do?!
